Training Ground
Rules
- 1. ALL visitors/trainers must sign a
waiver before being allowed to remain on the grounds. The waiver
will be kept on file for future visits.
-
- 2. Your dog must
be on leash at all times unless involved in a training exercise. Do not
allow your dog to come up to other dogs. During training sessions many
dogs are excited and may not want to politely greet your dog.
Do not attempt to touch anyone's dog without
first asking owner's permission.
-
3. All training is done
at the discretion of the trainer. Do not work your dog
in the parking area during other people's training session unless you
are the next person up for a session.
It is OK to give your dog pee/poop breaks, but keep them brief to avoid
any conflicts with dog that may be transporting to or from the parking
area. Be aware of what is going on around you BEFORE you let
your dog out of the crate.
4. Your dog must be put away during protection work unless
you are given permission to keep him on the field by the trainer Dave
Blank.
5. Please respect our grounds. If your dog poops, pick it up and dispose of it in the
trash can A pooper scooper is available.
6. If you groom or brush your
dog, dispose of the dog hair in the trash can. Do NOT leave it on
the ground.
7. All trash must thrown in
the trash can. Cigarette butts belong in a proper container...NOT on ground.
8 Although we are a social
group, please remember the only way to learn about the sport is to pay
attention during the training sessions. Talking
loudly during other's session is inconsiderate. Paying
attention during other's participants sessions is good way to add value to
your training time.
9. All participants are responsible for their own safety
equipment. \We recommend high-top soccer shoes, long pants, shirts with
sleeves, and leather gloves for handlers.
- 10. Handlers must be sure that
their equipment is in good condition to insure the safety of our helper.
- 11. While crates in your car
is not required, it is highly recommended. We have had a
situation where a dog smashed through a car window because it was excited
during the protection training. For your dog's safety
and the other participants safety, please have a crate in your car.
12. Make
sure that puppy or dogs vaccinations are current. If your dog has been
ill please be sure to keep them at home until fully recovered.
13. Kids under 18 years old
are only allowed on the training grounds, if they are actively training
a dog and are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Parents and legal guardians are solely responsible for enforcing this
rule. All
children must be under the control of their guardian(s) at all times.
No exceptions will be made
to this rule.
- 14. Above all we are here to
enjoy the sport of Schutzhund. We are here to support and help one
another achieve our goals in this ultimate life sport.
Good sportsmanship and
respect is expected by all.
-
- 15. Tipping the helper is recommended.
-
- 16. We enforce these rules. If
you can't follow them, you will be asked to leave.
